An amount of Rs. 76000/- was transacted unauthorized or hacked from my Father SBI Bank account in May 2018.  In 38 transactions, and Rs. 2000 each in one transaction the money was transacted or hacked. He has received OTPs in his registered mobile number, but before reading the message/OTP the money get deducted. Immediately we have blocked the ATM Card. Next day we have informed about the hacking or the transaction to the SBI Bank Branch and lodge an FIR in Cyber Cell of Assam Police. The SBI officials were not cooperating; even they want to put the blame on us. SBI officials were talking some Computer related buzz words and did not pay much attention. SBI was delaying the matter and investigation, we keep visiting and after one month SBI has informed us that the transaction is a normal transaction only no unauthorized transaction took place. They even don’t want to share the details where the money has been transferred. It was really painful for us. But did not lost the hope, we have dropped one complain in RBI Banking Ombudsman. It took more than one month to get a call. RBI Banking Ombudsman has arranged one meeting between my Father and the SBI representatives. The discussion was held in Hindi language, where my father was not comfortable, even after request of my father they have not allowed anyone else to translate and the in RBI Banking Ombudsman forced my father to sign. In the judgment, they have written that Card details must have been shared by my father. So, SBI has won the argument and we have lost the money and the argument despite we knew that we have not shared anything with anyone. Then we have appealed in the  RBI head office in Mumbai through e-mail. But unfortunately did not receive any response. In this way almost 8-9 month has gone.

 Finally lodged a complaint in Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) department, which is directly under the PrimeMinister. CPGRAMS has intervened and directed RBI Banking ombudsman to verify the case. Finally RBI Appellate Authority, Mumbai directed SBI to reimburse our debited money. And SBI has deposited lost money in my Father’s Bank account.

It took two years, but we have not surrendered. At one time the amount was not so important but the justice is important.
